Brian founded homebuilder Challenger Homes in 2000 and later its current owner The Challenger Group, the 51st largest homebuilder in 2022 according to Builder 100.
Brian is also the founder of Goodwin Knight, wholly owned by The Challenger Group, which is a dedicated multifamily developer and operator with nearly 2,000 units under development in 2023 across 13 projects. Prior to 2023, Goodwin Knight, and its predecessor, had successfully completed seven multifamily projects, six of which have been sold. Before founding Challenger Homes, Mr. Bahr was employed as regional manager with Colorado & Santa Fe Land Company with responsibilities involving supervision of property management, leasing, maintenance and construction activities for its commercial properties in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mr. Bahr is actively involved in church and other nonprofit volunteer organizations. Mr. Bahr graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in accountancy and M.S. in accountancy and information systems. .
Brandon has over 20 years of experience in Finance and Real Estate. Prior to being named the President of Goodwin Knight in January 2023 he was the CFO of The Challenger Group.
Brandon joined Challenger in early 2022 after working at Charles Schwab for over six years where he was the CFO for the Ultra-High Networth Division and the leader of the corporate-wide Resolution and Recovery Program and other substantial projects including Libor Transition. Prior to Schwab, Brandon served at the FDIC for seven years where he was the Chief of Resolution Planning for Regional Banks.
Additionally, he sold failing banks across the country during The Great Financial Crisis. Before his FDIC service Brandon was a Director of Loan Originations at GE Capital for five years where he led or participated in the financing of over $700 million of direct loans and underwrote over $1 billion of real estate transactions as a member of GE’s Global Valuation Team.
Brandon is a CFA Charterholder, has an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and a B.S. in economics from Brigham Young University. He is thankful husband and a father of six children and is a happy volunteer in their many and varied activities.
A Colorado native, Kirk Joined Goodwin Knight in February of 2023 bringing a wealth of construction experience to the group. With over thirty years of experience, he has managed over two billion dollars worth of construction as a contractor and owner’s representative. Kirk came to us from Montana where he managed the two largest commercial/residential projects in the state’s history. Kirk has completed projects in Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Montana. Kirk has never settled on his laurels as he continues to find ways to improve quality.
He has several accolades in his resume including President of the SCBA, Graduate Leadership Boulder, Town of Dillon Planning and Zoning Commissioner, AGC of Colorado Safety Committee, AGC Gold Hardhat Award, AGC Project of the Year for projects over forty million dollars, several charity fundraising events, Board Member on The Village at Empire Pass DRB and SCBA Builder of the Year 2000. Known for his moral values and integrity, Kirk’s strength for leading people and teams in achieving exceptional results will benefit all our projects. Kirk holds a BS in Construction Management from Colorado State University.
Kirk and his wife Terri have six children currently spread throughout the United States. When not working Kirk can most likely be found fly fishing somewhere between Colorado and Montana.
Trevit has over 30 years of management experience. He began his working career in his pre-teens with his family’s fitness equipment manufacturing business and later took over ownership and successfully ran the business for 10 years, supplying fitness equipment to many NFL and college football teams. Trevit has five years of experience as a plant manager, overseeing 50 plus employees for one of eastern Pennsylvania’s largest manufacturers of steel fabricated highway products. In 2004, Trevit moved back to his home state of Colorado and began his residential construction career overseeing framing crews in Colorado Springs. This opportunity led to the role of managing construction for local builders such as Campbell Homes, John Laing Homes, Richmond American Homes, Century Commercial Builders, Reunion Homes, and Aspen View Homes. As Director of Construction Trevit was responsible for ensuring quality home deliveries to over 400 families per year. Trevit joined Goodwin Knight in December 2022.
Tim joined the Goodwin Knight team in December 2022 as an Assistant Project Manager. In April 2023, he moved into the Project Manager position to oversee some of the Cottage projects. Tim has over 25 years in the construction industry. His career started in the excavation industry, from operating heavy equipment to managing company day to day operations. After 18 years of excavation work, Tim moved into the role of project management at a local Colorado Springs home builder. He was responsible for excavations, foundations, and all dirt activities. Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the construction and operation side of Goodwin Knight to help streamline existing and future projects.
Tanner started his career in field for local home builders and was consistently promoted to roles of increasing responsibility. Immediately prior to joining Goodwin Knight, Tanner worked for Key Structures as a Superintendent where he was responsible for completing dozens of duplexes after they were set on their foundations.
Jennifer joined Goodwin Knight as an Assistant Project Manager in April of 2023 bringing 20+ years of a diverse background in the homebuilding industry. Starting her career with a local supplier this allowed Jennifer to establish a foundation in the building industry understanding the importance that all roles play in delivering a high-quality product. While the industry was experiencing some of its toughest times in 2007, Jennifer switched gears and worked for the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency with a continued focus on planning and processes. Although this experience was rewarding and educational, it wasn’t the industry that she grew to love. Taking the skills developed from those experiences, Jennifer has held numerous Management roles with a local builder and continues to thrive on ensuring processes, communication, integrity, and positive culture experiences is top notch for both internal and external customers. Outside of the professional realm, Jennifer is an adventurous spirit who finds joy in numerous outdoors activities and music. As a devoted parent of two, Jennifer has called Colorado Springs home since 1994, embracing the sense of community and natural beauty the area offers.
Thomas has over 20 years of experience across private equity real estate, portfolio analytics, and asset management. He serves as Head of Asset Management at Goodwin Knight, where he focuses on driving NOI performance, optimizing capital plans, and delivering clear, data-driven reporting to owners, leadership, and investors.
Prior to joining Goodwin Knight, Thomas founded DealFrame Advisory, where he advised operators, syndicators, and private equity investors nationwide on underwriting, portfolio strategy, and fund governance. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Silverpeak Real Estate Partners and ProLogis – Asia Private Capital in Singapore, overseeing fund-level performance reporting and valuation for +$1 billion in institutional real estate assets across Asia.
Thomas is also the founder of Money Weighted Software, a real estate analytical platform that achieved national adoption prior to its successful exit.
He holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Washington, a Bachelor of Arts from Seattle University, and is a CAIA Charterholder. Thomas previously served on the El Paso County Planning Commission and remains committed to advancing disciplined asset management and attainable housing solutions.
Alec is a real estate professional with five years of experience in operations and analytics. He serves as a Real Estate Analyst on the Asset Management team at Goodwin Knight, where his focus is producing clear, actionable reporting that supports portfolio performance and leadership decision-making.
Prior to joining Goodwin Knight, Alec worked as an Operations Coordinator at Lime, where he managed in-warehouse operations and helped launch the company’s Albuquerque market. In this role, he drove operational improvements through a comprehensive overhaul of inventory management processes, resulting in significant reductions in throughput and procurement costs. Earlier in his career, Alec served as a Logistics Coordinator at J.B. Hunt supporting Amazon’s dedicated account across the central United States, where he managed freight planning for 268 drivers handling more than $30 million of goods annually.
Alec holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business and is Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) through APICS.
Drew Burton serves as Asset Manager at Goodwin Knight, where he oversees operating performance across the firm’s multifamily portfolio. His work focuses on revenue management, expense discipline, and asset-level accountability to drive long-term value creation.
Drew works closely with property management partners to implement structured pricing strategies, improve leasing velocity, and align property operations with portfolio-level return objectives. He has helped develop standardized operating metrics, reporting systems, and turnover processes designed to scale with the firm’s growing platform. His approach emphasizes measurable NOI growth, disciplined capital allocation, and operational efficiencies that support both current cash flow and long-term valuation.
Prior to joining Goodwin Knight, Drew worked at Monarch Investment and Management Group, where he gained experience in multifamily operations, financing events, and portfolio performance strategy across large-scale assets. He graduated from Stanford
University in 2018 and brings a disciplined, analytical approach to asset management and operational execution.
Dave joined Goodwin Knight in May 2020 bringing a wealth of planning experience to the team. For over 25 years Dave has practiced as a landscape architect and planner in both the private and public sectors. Over the course of his professional career, Dave has owned and operated a landscape architecture and planning firm managing a wide range of projects, including residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial projects.
Since joining the Goodwin Knight team, Dave has been responsible for identifying and evaluating potential properties for both the cottages and apartment developments. Responsibilities include preparing project layouts and density studies to determine the feasibility of a project, preparing proforma evaluations, and preparing due diligence documents.
Once it is determined that a project is feasible, Dave is responsible for preparing the project scope of services necessary to bring a project to a construction document level of completion, including the coordination of the consulting teams, overseeing the entitlement process and
construction document completion, and coordinating the hand-off of the project to the Goodwin Knight construction manager.
Dave and his wife Cindy have lived in the Colorado Springs area since 2000. They have a son and daughter. Cindy and Dave enjoy traveling the southwest and have visited several National Parks during their 31 years of marriage.

Kyle Simon is an accomplished accounting and finance professional with progressive leadership experience across corporate accounting, treasury, and financial operations. He serves as Controller at Goodwin Knight, where he oversees the company’s accounting function, financial reporting, and internal processes that support the firm’s continued growth and operational discipline.
Prior to joining Goodwin Knight, Kyle was a Treasury Analyst at The Challenger Group, Inc., where he supported executive leadership through streamlined cash reporting, capital planning, and complex lending initiatives. In this role, he helped manage more than $100 million in bank financing, coordinated lender communications, and supported investor reporting associated with a $50 million debt raise.
Earlier in his career, Kyle spent more than five years at Sonic Healthcare USA, where he progressed to Accounting Supervisor. During his tenure, he led monthly close activities, performed detailed variance analysis across hundreds of expense accounts, and implemented reporting enhancements that improved accuracy and shortened close timelines.
Kyle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he also played collegiate baseball and helped lead his team to its first Division II national ranking.
Doug joined Goodwin Knight in August 2023 and supports the company’s construction accounting needs. He came from the world of rock and roll, acting as the Accounting Manager for a live concert and dinner theatre company with multiple venues in Southern California. Fun fact, he collects antique beer cans.
Scott has over 20 years experience in all facets of real estate development. He has provided pre construction and project management services on more than $600 million of construction projects as well as provided stakeholder representation for over $650 million in development deals that included approximately 1,224 multifamily units, over 125 master planned residential lots, 750,000 sf of office/healthcare, 350,000 sf of retail/mixed-use, and over a 1,000 acres of land.
Raised in Clanton, Alabama, he was often put to work on construction projects in his youth. Scott loves the teamwork aspect of this business. A natural organizer, he excels at coordinating the many elements required to get deals done and is passionate about finding better ways to deliver results. Known for his drive and integrity, Scott focuses on quality as well as efficiency so that deals stand the test of time.
Scott and his wife, Natalie, live in Homewood, Alabama and have three children, Mason, Tucker, and Annie. Outside of work, Scott can be found enjoying the outdoors, at the lake, on a golf course, or most likely these days, on a ball field supporting his children.
Civically, he is an active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and F3 Birmingham while having served the United Way of Central Alabama, Big Brother Big Sisters, March of Dimes and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the past.
